Subject: Lathe threading
Hi Tom,

Another friend of mine would like me to convert his lathe to CNC.

Will single point threading run from a standard G76 canned cycle?

Hi Mike,

Yes it is supported using Mach3.

I like the kmotioncnc.   Is there anyway it can be done from there with a user c program?

Hi Michael,

Not really.   I think it would be easier to just integrate it into KMotionCNC.  All the spindle synchronized coordinated motion logic already exists in KFLOP which is used by Mach3.  Bacically the G33 threading GCode needs to be added to the Interpreter which would simply issue a TrigThread Console command instead of ExecBuf.
